Not directly. You can travel by train, but you will have to drive or take a bus to the next train area. It would take a great deal of time for you to accomplish this, as the train is not the best mode of transportation to South America.
I am pretty sure that there is no trains that travel even as far as Guatemala. Some of the other central american countries each have some railroad networks but they are not connected.
In any case, they are not widely used for transprotation even in Mexico, busses are faster and more widely used. The railroad networks in central america are largely from the banana growing regions to the ports and are not for passengers.
As for bus or car transport the road has a gap between Panama and Columbia about 200 miles south of the canal in a dense swamp/jungle.
No. In between Panama and Colombia there’s a huge stretch of jungle that blocks traffic. You’d have to take a boat from Panama to Cartagena. and then continue the journey south.
i dont know if you can take a train over the panama canal
if u go make sure to not drink the water and wear bug spray
